What is PTCO?

One of the reasons I decided to join PTCO was to make a difference in my children's experience at school. I didn't realize the importance of a PTO/PTA/PTCO until I became involved. I never even knew what it meant. There are many functions of a PTCO. First, what does it even mean?

P= Parent
T= Teacher
C= Community
O= Organization

We have over 650 children attending Sunrise this year! This is our first year in the traditional calendar. The transition has been smooth, thanks to all of the great teachers and staff we have!

Parents- We have a voice! Invest in Sunrise! There are so many ways to get involved! Our children need us!

Teachers- Every year I meet another great teacher! We are so lucky to have you at Sunrise. I was thrilled to see all of the teacher Representatives at our 1st PTCO meeting!

Community- We are the community. We all live here, we work here, we play here. Community is a big part of what Sunrise is. I feel so lucky to be able to walk my kids to school in the morning. I know a lot of families who have just said good bye to their schools. PTCO embraces our community and are looking for ways to be more involved.

Organization- Moosh it all together..here we are.

Now what does PTCO do??

TA Assistance- PTCO donated $9,000 to our Teacher's Assistants! For the lovely ladies who grade papers, make copies, give a band-aid at recess, keep our kids quiet at lunch, we thank you!!!

School Supplies/lunch fund- Times have been rough. We have been able to help those in our community that have needed an extra helping hand.

Field Trip Funds- PTCO provides $5.00 per student to help our Sunrise teachers with field trips.

Teacher Appreciation Week- Because we love our teachers we provide lunch, snacks, and treats to our teachers all week!

5th Grade Continuation- PTCO is so proud of our 5th graders. We host a continuation for their hard work and to wish them well!

Teacher's Auction- All year the staff and teachers have the opportunity to earn "Hardy Bucks". The teachers bid on donated items with their "Hardy Bucks". This is a night of fun and appreciation for all their hard work!

Please visit PTCO's blogspot and survey. We want to know what you think and hear any ideas you might have!
